 WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • After three minutes of scoreless play, the Hawks conceded two goals in a minute at the twelve minute mark.

  • Claudia Pollaro (Queensbury, N.Y.) was able to score the first goal of the game for the Hawks, after receiving a pass from Katrina Marten (Middlesex, N.Y.) for the lone goal of the quarter.

  • Hartwick trailed by eight to open the second quarter, an early Hawk foul led to a Cortland goal a minute in.

  • Kristen Vaccarelli (Dix Hills, N.Y.) was ranked eleventh in Division III prior to this contest with an average 1.50 free position goals a game.

  • Vaccarelli continued that trend, scoring a free position goal to end the Red Dragon scoring run with seven minutes in the half.

  • The Hawks struggled to keep momentum as Cortland scored three goals to close out the half.

  • Hartwick was outscored in the third quarter 4-1 as Hanna Goodreau  (North Reading, Mass.) was responsible for the single goal, finding the back of the net with four seconds left.

  • Emily Madigan (Syracuse, N.Y.) scored the first goal of the fourth quarter with the assist going to Marten two minutes in.

  • Following three Cortland goals, Marten spotted a cutting Vaccarelli who was able to put one past the keeper with five minutes left.

  • Marten picked up her fourth assist as Goodreau scored her second goal of the game but it would not be enough to overcome the deficit.
