ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Hawks hit the road on Friday night for their conference opener against the University of Rochester Yellowjackets.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Hawks fell behind quickly, conceding a goal just over two minutes into the contest.
- Hartwick was able to hold the Yellowjackets scoreless for the next 21 minutes of play before the host squad struck again, making the score 2-0.
- The reasserted themselves in the second half, as Makenzie Kensel (San Diego, Calif.) cut Rochester's lead in half with a blast from the left side of the circle into the right corner of the cage.
- The Hawks were once again able to contain Rochester's offense into the 4th quarter.
- Unfortunately for Hartwick, the Yellowjackets picked up two goals within two and a half minutes of each other early in the 4th to go up by three.
- The three-goal lead would stand for the host squad, defeating Hartwick 4-1.
- Fifth year senior, Ashley Luppens (Wading River, N.Y.) and first year, Ava Reynolds (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) split goalie duties for the Hawks, combining for 13 saves.
