Hawks Claim 5-2 Win Over Drew

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hawks returned to their home courts on Sunday afternoon and made the most of their homecoming with a 5-2 non-conference win over Drew.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 
  • Lily Vanuga (Springville, N.Y.) and Samantha Lantzy (Valatie, N.Y.) once again set the tone for the Hawks, picking up a 6-3 win at 3rd doubles.
  • Needing one more doubles win to collect the point for team scoring, the 1st Doubles combo of Alexandra Krasinska (Pine Island, N.Y.) and Phoebe Olson (Jamestown, N. Dak.) came through with a 6-4 win over their Rangers' counterparts.
  • Drew pushed the Hawks hard in the single round, but the home squad was able to pull through by taking four of the six matches to secure the 5-2 win.
  • Lantzy and Phoebe Olson (Jamestown, N. Dak.) were double winners in the match as each went on to capture wins at 4th and 2nd singles respectively.
  • Gianna Leggieri (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) secured the win for Hartwick with a dominant performance at 6th singles, winning 6-1, 6-1.
 
UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
 
The Hawks return to the courts on Friday, September 27 with a 4 PM tilt against Empire 8 opponent, Utica University at Wilber Park.
