Cortland Scores Three in the 3rd to Take Down Hawks

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hawks weathered several storms throughout the first half against the Red Dragons. However, a three-goal 3rd quarter by Cortland took down Hartwick in their home opener.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 
  • The 15th ranked Red Dragons put an early goal on the board just over five minutes into the contest.
  • The Hawks' defense would bend but not break throughout the remainder of the first half despite Cortland getting off eight shots throughout the 2nd quarter.
  • Unfortunately for Hartwick, the visiting Red Dragons exploded for a three-goal third quarter to jump out to a 4-0 lead.
  • The Hawks conceded a fifth goal in the waning minutes of the contest as Cortland went on to win the non-conference matchup 5-0.
 
 
UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
 
The Hawks head back on the road for another non-conference contest on Saturday, September 14, squaring off against the DeSales University Bulldogs in Center Valley, Pa.  Game time is set for 1 PM.
