SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Hartwick Women's Swim and Dive Team traveled to Union College to compete in a tri-meet alongside Springfield College.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

• The Hawks begin their afternoon with the 200 medley relay, Bree Dy (Matawan, N.J.), Courtney Pierce (Fulton, N.Y.), Aubrey Vaile (Wesley Chapel, Fla.), and Anna Bischoff (Oneonta, N.Y.) placed second. The group combined for a time of one minute and 55 seconds with Bischoff posting an impressive 26.27 second split.

• Cate Russo (San Pedro, Cal.) took the first event of the afternoon for Hartwick, placing first in the 1000 yard freestyle, clocking in at 11 minutes and 31 seconds.

• Pierce competed in her first individual event of the day, placing third in the 200 yard free with a finishing mark of two minutes and five seconds.

• Dy was nearly able to snag first place in the 100 yard breaststroke but was just edged out by a Springfield swimmer by one second.

• Min-Syun Chen (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and Pierce finished neck and neck in the 100 breast, placing second and third as Pierce touched the wall .4 seconds before Chen.

• Danielle DeCarlo (Whitesboro, N.Y.) earned some key points for 'Wick, placing first in the 200 fly with a time of two minutes and 21 seconds.

• The Hawks put on a strong showing in the 200 fly as Savannah Evans (Livermore, Calif.) and Amanda Wilbur (Watkins Glen, N.Y.) finished right behind DeCarlo.

• Annabelle Lindsay (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) tied for fourth in one meter diving, scoring 202.25. Lindsay returned and placed fifth in three meter diving, posting a score of 203.75.

• DeCarlo was just edged out by .18 seconds to a Springfield swimmer in the 200 backstroke, placing second.

• Pierce and Chen placed second and third in the 200 breaststroke as Pierce clocked in at two minutes and 33 seconds. Chen stayed on Pierce's trail, finishing one second after her fellow Hawk.

• Russo continues to stand out in the distance freestyle events, capturing first place in the 500 freestyle.

• The Hawks capped off their day by taking first place in the 200 free relay as Vaile, Russo, Bischoff and Jillian Ferrie (Middle Grove, N.Y.) combined for a time of one minute and 46 seconds.
