The Hawks geared up to face off against the defending three time champions St. John Fisher as the Cardinals came into competition, undefeated in conference play with five wins.

Emma Cohen (Utica, N.Y.) opened the scoring on the afternoon with a pull-up jumper, 30 seconds in.

St. John Fisher strung together 11 straight, powered off two threes before Macy Durkin (Syracuse, N.Y.) connected on a driving layup, executing the backdoor cut to perfection with a bounce pass from Daniella DeBiase (Staten Island, N.Y.).

Hartwick fell behind due to the Cardinals shooting well from beyond the arc as the Hawks entered the second quarter trailing by double digits but had intention work their way back into the game by getting into the painted area.

Trinity Thornton (Sherburne, N.Y.) went a perfect four for four from the free throw line in the second quarter as the team worked on chipping away at the deficit.

Yadi Smith (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) got herself on the scoreboard, corralling her own miss and scoring the layup in traffic.

Smith opened the second half with a corner three pointer to get the Hawks going early.

The Hawks contained the Cardinals well in the third quarter and matched their offensive output as the teams traded buckets throughout.

Durkin made her presence felt in the third quarter, contributing on more than half the team's points.

Despite the Hawks playing well on both ends in the second half, the Cardinals' big first half proved too much to overcome for Hartwick as St. John Fisher remains undefeated in conference play.

Smith led the team with ten points, Durkin followed closely with nine points and led rebounding with five.
