HOW IT HAPPENED

In the Hawks' final non-conference match of the season, they were able to post a 1-0 win for a nice confidence boost ahead of some tough conference opponents. The Royal Blue and White dominated the offensive end of the field in the first, with Camryn Montelongo (Thornton, Col.)– making her first collegiate start– tallying the first shot of the game out right. The Hawks continued peppering the goal with shots until the 29th minute when Krapf secured her first career goal off her own rebound to bring the Hawks to a one-goal lead. The Broncos quickly rallied on the defensive end to shut out six more corner kicks and three more shots from the Hawks to end the first, though Delhi was unable to make anything on offense.

The second saw a battle in the midfield, with three different Hawks posting shots before the Broncos made their first shot on goal in the 66th minute. Piersa in goal would make her first save of the night, then tallying her second over eleven minutes later. Despite intense effort on both sides of the field, nobody else would find the back of the net, and the Hawks would walk away with a solid 1-0 victory.

UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS

The Hawks will make their return to conference play in a road contest against Keuka College on Saturday, October 4th at 3 PM.
