ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Hartwick women's volleyball team is set for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament, held Sunday, November 23 and hosted by FDU-Florham.
The Hawks turned in another stellar campaign under Head Coach Janet Donovan, finishing 21-11 overall and 10-1 in conference play on their way to the program's second Empire 8 Championship appearance—and first since 2022.
Hartwick was powered by four Empire 8 All-Conference selections. Three-time First Team honoree Braelyn Hornick (Candor, N.Y.) once again led the charge at the setter position. Shelby Swartz (Candor, N.Y.) earned her first First Team selection after a standout season on the outside, surpassing 1,000 career points. Lucille Walker (Ithaca, N.Y.) and Isabella Gracias (Oneonta, N.Y.) also made an impact, picking up their first all-conference honors, with Walker named to the Second Team and Gracias to the Third Team.
'Wick will match up with No.4 seed, the Keene State Owls out of the Little East Conference. The Owls posted a 14-14 record, going 3-5 in conference to earn a playoff berth. Keene State was handed a first round loss in the Little East Confererence Championship by No.3 Plymouth State in four sets .
The ECAC announced Hartwick as the tournament's top overall seed, competing alongside New Jersey City University, Keene State College, and host institution FDU-Florham. Additional information will be posted to the schedule page once available.
