Hawks Drop Road Contest to St. John Fisher

PITTSFORD, N.Y. - The Hartwick Women's Basketball opened up their final regular season weekend road trip, matching up with St.John Fisher, falling to the Cardinals in a Friday night conference clash.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Hawks opened the contest led by Emma Cohen (Utica, N.Y.) on the offensive end, sinking a driving layup and knocking down a right wing three on the ensuing possession.

  • Yadi Smith (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) earned a trip to the free throw line, cashing in on both free throws before the Cardinals sparked a run.

  • St. John Fisher struck for 12 straight before a deep three from Bailey McCoy (Otego, N.Y.) halted the run.

  • Hartwick fell behind as the Cardinals took control of the second quarter, Macy Durkin (Syracuse, N.Y.) led the Hawks in the scoring category with ten points at half.

  • Daniella DeBiase (Staten Island, N.Y.) scored the first bucket of the third quarter as the Hawks put their head down and got to work.

  • Interior scores by Durkin and Seneca Williamson (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) highlighted the scoring in the third quarter as the squad continued to give it their all and chip away at the deficit.

  • The Cardinals remained in the driver's seat for the fourth quarter, Williamson and Natalie Vredenburgh (Delhi, N.Y.)  poured in buckets to get the offense going but eventually the clock struck zero with the Hawks still trailing.

  • Durkin led scoring, finishing the contest with ten points and three rebounds, Williamson followed with six points.

 

UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS

The Hawks will prepare for a Saturday afternoon tip-off at Nazareth University, matching up with the Golden Flyers for their final regular season road contest on February 15th at 2PM.
