WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Hartwick opened the contest with a 10-2 run, powered by triples from Brian Bonin (Cicero, N.Y.) and Isaiah Thomas (Manitou Springs, CO).

Thomas led the charge offensively as the Hawks made their presence felt in the painted area.

Henry Perkins (Albany, N.Y.) was a force in the paint, putting his post moves on display, working himself free time and time again.

The Hawks rode the early momentum, creating as much as an 11 point lead before foul trouble and Nazareth three pointers allowed them to get back into the contest.

Nazareth was able to take their first lead of the contest with three minutes left, Bonin scored the final bucket of the half, capping off his solid half with seven points.

The Royal Blue and White looked to lock down the perimeter in the second half as the final 20 minutes began with the squad down seven.

Perkins upped the intensity, opening the half with three straight interior buckets to chip away at the deficit.

Mike Gitz (Commack, N.Y.) drained his first triple of the contest as the Hawks continued to scratch and claw at the Golden Flyer lead.

Triples from the Golden Flyers helped hold off the Hawks' attack, Shane Micallef (Warwick, N.Y.) knocked down a three of his own to keep the deficit at six.

An interior score by Joe Bangel (Candor, N.Y.) brought 'Wick as close as four points before Nazareth was able to stretch their lead back to eight.

Perkins continued to dig deep into his bag of tricks, spinning and splitting the defense for the bucket, posting 25 points for the first time in his collegiate career.

Hartwick continued to fight on as they still trailed by eight with less than five minutes remaining.

The Hawks unfortunately ran out of ample time to mount a comeback, falling to the Golden Flyers in a hard-fought battle. Perkins led the way with a new career high of 27 points, Isaiah Thomas poured in 14 points and Bonin collected eleven points.
