WEBSTER, N.Y. - The Hartwick Men's Swim and Dive team remains in second place after three days of competition at the 2024-25 Empire 8 Swim and Dive Championships.

Bryce Rogers (Fulton, N.Y.) opened the morning with a second place finish in the 200 yard butterfly prelims, timing in at one minute and 57 seconds. Matthew Cole (Wolcott, N.Y.) and Lane Rawls (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) also qualified for finals.

Owen James (St. Lutz, Fla.) represented the Hawks in the 100 yard backstroke, clocking in at 55.4 seconds to qualify for finals.

Hartwick capped off the preliminary round with strong performances from Evan Nezat (Jacksonville, N.C.) and Hassan Abdelwahed (New Hartford, N.Y.) in the 100 yard breaststroke, taking second and third place respectively.

The Hawks opened their Day Three finals with the 200 yard medley relay, taking the silver medal. Sebastian Knowles (Plano, TX), Mahdi Behniaye (Hannibal, Mo.), Cameron Drake (El Cajon, Cal.), and James combined for a time of one minute and 38 seconds.

Rogers kept the Hawks rolling, picking up the bronze in the 200 butterfly, touching the wall with a time of one minute and 54 seconds.

Abdelwahed collected a bronze medal of his own, posting a final mark of 56.97 seconds in the 100 yard breaststroke.

Peyton Humphries (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) was solid on the diving board, scoring 349.20 in the one meter diving event, placing sixth.

Nezat, Abdelwahed, Rogers, and Drake wrapped up the third day of competition with a silver medal in the 800 yard freestyle relay, clocking in at seven minutes and six seconds.Â

Geneseo's 822 points leads the pack after three days, Hartwick sits in second with 488 points, and Alfred follows with 411 points. Brockport takes fourth with 368 points and Nazareth rounds out the standings with 306 points.
