WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
-
At the top of the first, Emily Holladay (Hancocks Bridge, N.J.)Â got the Hawks momentum going, snagging a single and subsequently stealing second and third. However, the pitching from the Wolves proved to be too much, and Holladay was left on base.
-
Keuka would end the first inning with two hits and two left on base, unable to score.
-
Brianna Blake (Mechanicville, NY) would double in the second inning, while Lindsay Zgrodek (Glen Spey, NY) would reach first on an error by third base, though the Wolves would continue to hold them off.
-
The Wolves would get the first run on the scoreboard at the bottom of the second, with the Hawks giving up a single and a double, though pitcher Anna Klein (Souderton, PA) would tally two strikeouts.
-
Despite a good effort from the Hawks, Keuka would score again in the third.
-
The third hit of the day from the Hawks would come from Samantha Moore (Mamaroneck, NY), who singled in the sixth but couldn't get home.
-
In the seventh, The Hawks battled hard, with both Ashlee Stevens (Knox, NY) and Casey O'Connor (Albany, NY) grabbing a single each. Soon, the Royal Blue and White had loaded the bases, but couldn't capitalize on the opportunity.
Â
GAME TWO
-
Keuka came out hot in Game 2, scoring 9 runs in only the first inning, while Hartwick struggled to get their footing.
-
Nadia Pascucci (Troy, NY) would be the lone hitter for the Hawks in the first inning, snagging a single.
-
In the third inning, the Hawks came alive, with both Blake and Moore earning an RBI a piece and sending Phillips and Holladay home.
-
Keuka would respond back with 3 more hits and 2 runs to end the third.
-
Both teams would gather nothing in the fourth, though a double from Blake would allow Pascucci to score and put the Hawks back on the board.
-
Game 2 would end in five innings, with the score favoring Keuka.
