ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Hawks wrapped up their season with a conference doubleheader against the SUNY Geneseo Knights on a windy Sunday afternoon, unfortunately falling short in both games.

The Hawks prepared for their final series of the 2025 season against the SUNY Geneseo Knights at home.

Hartwick's defense was dominant in the first two innings, only allowing one hit for the Knights.

However, Geneseo would soon begin to gain momentum in the third, gathering 3 runs off 4 hits before the Hawks could shut them down.

Their progress only grew in the fourth inning, as the Knights expanded their lead by another 4.

Nadia Pascucci (Troy, NY) would snag a single in the fourth to give the Hawks a fighting chance, though the Hawks would not score yet again.

Geneseo's batters were on fire in the fifth, scoring another six runs.

The Hawks responded well in the fifth, with Jessica Betts (South Glens Falls, NY) grabbing a single and scoring off a double by Brianna Blake (Mechanicville, NY).

Blake herself would make it home off an Autumn Millington (Westmoreland, NY) double to left center, though the comeback would come too little too late, with Geneseo taking the first game in five innings.
GAME TWO

The Knights only continued to conquer going into the next game, snagging a whopping 15 runs in the first three innings, one of which was a homer, for a dominant lead over the Hawks.

Emily Holladay (Hancocks Bridge, N.J.) would fight for the Hawks to stay in the game in the bottom of the third, stealing two bases and eventually scoring to get one on the board for the Hawks.

Sierra Phillips (Salem, NY) would also manage to get on base with a single, but was stranded as the Knights' defense began to pick up once more.

The Knights would take advantage of several walks throughout the next two innings, scoring another 4.

The Hawks fought until the very end, with Pascucci and Lindsay Zgrodek (Glen Spey, NY) earning a single each in the fifth, but the deficit was too much for the Hawks to overcome, as they fell in five innings to the Knights once more.

The Hawks ended their season with a 6-30 overall record, and 1-21 in the Empire 8.

To end the season, Samantha Moore (Mamaroneck, NY) would lead the team with a dominant .667 slugging percentage, 30 hits, 19 RBIs, 50 total bases, and 5 home runs.

Holladay was a standout in stolen bases, snagging 20 off a total 23 attempts. She would also lead the team in 14 total runs.

On the mound, Anna Klein (Souderton, PA) would lead the team with 35 strikeouts in 102 innings pitched.

At first base, Moore would again lead the team with 180 putouts, with utility player Ashlee Stevens (Knox, NY) leading the team with 67 assists.
