ONEONTA, N.Y. - Gianna Leggieri (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) and Lily Vanuga (Springville, N.Y.) were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District List, making significant contributions on and off the tennis courts.

In order to be eligible for this esteemed honor, student-athletes must post at least a 3.5 GPA while being in the lineup for at least 70% of the institution's matches.

Leggieri, the Empire 8 Sportswoman of the Year, enjoyed a stellar sophomore campaign, cruising to a flawless 8-0 record in conference singles. Gianna posted a 13-3 overall record, going 1-0 at the No.4 spot, 6-3 at the No.5 spot and a perfect 6-0 at the No.6 spot. Leggieri didn't falter in doubles play either, going 8-3 overall at the No.2 spot including a dominant 6-0 in conference play. Gianna earned Empire 8 Second Team All-Conference honors for both singles and doubles.

Lily Vanuga turned in another rock solid campaign, taking home the Tournament MVP honors in the Empire 8 Championship Tournament, helping the Hawks clinch their second title in three years. Vanuga displayed her versatility, playing in multiple spots in the lineup, going 5-2 in conference and finding her stride at the No.4 spot with a 6-1 overall record. Lily was a force to be reckoned with in doubles play, posting an 11-3 record, going perfect in conference play with six wins. Vanuga earned Second Team All-Conference honors for doubles and pulled in a Third Team All-Conference honor for singles.
