HOW IT HAPPENED

Hartwick entered Tuesday's matchup at Morrisville coming off a strong team win over SUNY Delhi, but the Hawks couldn't replicate that performance, falling 5-0 to the Mustangs.

Morrisville struck early, taking advantage of a defensive miscue in the 9th minute for the opening goal. Just over a minute later, another Hawk mistake led to a second Mustang tally, putting Hartwick in a quick two-goal hole.

The Blue and White settled in after the early setback and started generating opportunities, earning five first-half corner kicks. Alex Norgeot (Cohasset, Mass.) recorded the Hawks' first shot in the 18th minute, while Devin Chandler (Wylie, Tex.), Andres Ordonez Acosta (Estado de Mexico, Mexico), and Wilson Mount (Atlanta, Ga.) added looks before the break. Despite the pressure, the Hawks went into halftime trailing 2-0.

Morrisville pulled away in the second half, adding goals in the 53rd and 55th minutes before sealing the match with a fifth score in the 73rd. It was an uncharacteristic performance from Hartwick, who will look to regroup before their next contest.
