HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hawks opened 2026 riding momentum from a home win over Bard on December 30, before closing their non-conference slate against Fredonia. The Blue Devils set the early tone, jumping out to a 10–4 lead in the opening five minutes, but Hartwick quickly found its rhythm.

Back-to-back triples erased the early deficit, sparking a three-point barrage that swung the game in favor of Wick. Mase Jarvis (Peekskill, NY) and Mike Gitz (Commack, N.Y.) each buried a pair from deep as the Hawks drained five straight threes to seize control. Coach Cooper's group showcased balanced, three-level scoring, pounding the ball inside to collapse the defense before kicking out to open shooters beyond the arc. Kesean Leonard (Rochester, N.Y.) and TJ Etienne (Boynton Beach, FL) were effective in the mid-range and painted area, while Gitz and the Hawks stayed hot from downtown. Kenyon Boswell (Clearwater, FL.) and Jack Murphy (North Andover, MA) added their first triples of the half, helping Hartwick head into the break with a commanding 17-point advantage.

The momentum carried into the second half as Cosmo Hardinson (Larchmont, N.Y.) opened the frame with a strong drive to the basket. Robby Lucas (Abington Heights, PA) and Keegan Paolillo (Clearwater, FL) continued to assert themselves inside, keeping the Hawks comfortably ahead. After the scorching first-half shooting display, Hartwick continued to dictate the action with a diverse offensive attack. Jackson Frame (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) knocked down the first triple of the half, and Lucas and Gitz each connected on their final attempts from beyond the arc to put the game away, sealing a statement non-conference victory for the Blue and White.

COMMENTS FROM HEAD COACH BRAD COOPER
"I'm really proud of the guys for coming back from break in shape and ready to compete. We have dedicated, team-first guys. Our offense is clicking right now, when we share the ball and play for each other we can be be a challenging team to guard. We're looking forward to the opportunity ahead of us Tuesday against a talented well-coached SUNY Poly team."

UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
The Hawks will begin their Empire 8 conference slate, taking on the SUNY Poly Wildcats on the road on Tuesday, January 6th at 7:30 PM.
