PANAMA CITY BEACH, FLA. –The Hartwick Women's Lacrosse team closed out its spring break trip with a non-conference matchup against SUNY Cortland, falling to the Red Dragons in the Spring Fling Tournament on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Hartwick wrapped up its Spring Fling Tournament in Florida against a familiar foe in SUNY Cortland, who also claimed last year's meeting with a 20-9 win at Wright Stadium.

Cortland opened the scoring and never looked back, putting together a 13-goal run over the first 40 minutes of play. Parker Laurin (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) broke the run with her first goal of the game, marking her fourth consecutive contest finding the back of the net.

Lily Dempsey (Glenville, N.Y.) added the Hawks' second goal, converting on a feed from Jammie Decker (Penn Yan, N.Y.) early in the fourth quarter. Dempsey continues her strong start to the season, recording her team-leading 16th point, while Laurin follows closely behind with 15.

Cortland maintained control throughout as the Hawks fell in their final non-conference contest of the 2026 season.

The Hawks will return to New York, squaring off against the Golden Eagles in an Empire 8 matchup at Brockport on Saturday, March 28th.
