BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Hartwick Women's Lacrosse team traveled to Brockport for its first road conference matchup of the season, falling to the Golden Eagles in an Empire 8 contest on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Hartwick faced Brockport on the road for the first time since the Golden Eagles joined the Empire 8 last season, with Brockport also claiming last year's meeting.
The Golden Eagles opened the game with three straight goals, including one on a woman-up opportunity, before Jammie Decker (Penn Yan, N.Y.) put Hartwick on the board. Decker finished a feed from Adelyn Esce (Cicero, N.Y.), converting on a woman-up chance.
The Hawks continued to battle as Lily Dempsey (Glenville, N.Y.) added a goal at the 2:44 mark of the first quarter to close the early scoring gap. In the second quarter, Parker Laurin (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) netted Hartwick's third goal, with Esce recording her second assist of the game.
Brockport seized control from there, scoring eight unanswered goals across the second and third quarters while holding Hartwick scoreless during that stretch. Laurin ended the drought with her second goal of the game in the fourth quarter, assisted by Dempsey.
Despite a strong effort, the Hawks were unable to recover from Brockport's run. Laurin led Hartwick with two goals, while Decker and Dempsey each added one. Esce tallied two assists, and Dempsey contributed one. Esce also led the team with three draw controls.

The Hawks will host the Soaring Eagles of Elmira College, set for a 4PM draw control on Wednesday, April 1st at Wright Stadium.
