ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick Men's Basketball placed two Hawks on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, recognizing their excellence both on the court and in the classroom.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA and appear in at least 90% of their team's games or start in 66% of them.
Mike Gitz (Commack, N.Y.) appeared in all 25 games, earning 23 starts to cap off a strong junior season. A key threat from beyond the arc, Gitz led the team with 82 three-pointers made and finished second in total scoring with 313 points during the 2025–26 campaign. His performance etched his name into the program record book, ranking fourth all-time for single-season three-pointers (82) and 10th in career three-pointers made with 155. Off the court, Gitz matched his athletic success with academic excellence, earning a spot on the Fall 2025 Empire 8 President's List.
Malachi Polson (Bay Shore, N.Y.) also put together an impressive junior season, appearing in all 25 games with four starts. Polson recorded the second-highest three-point percentage on the team, shooting an efficient 12-for-29 (.414) from long range. He ranked sixth on the team in scoring with 138 points, averaging 5.5 per game, while contributing across the board with 31 assists (fourth on the team) and 15 steals (fifth). Polson's well-rounded impact extended beyond the court, as he also earned recognition on the Fall 2025 Empire 8 President's List.
