HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hawks entered Wright Stadium riding a four-game winning streak and wasted little time setting the tone. Hartwick opened the scoring in a woman-down situation when leading scorer Parker Laurin (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) rifled home her first goal off a feed from Adelyn Esce (Cicero, NY) at 10:50. Senior captain Jammie Decker (Penn Yan, N.Y.) struck in the same minute with the Hawks still down a player, scoring at 10:09. Laurin added her second in a woman-up opportunity with Abby Skurka (Cumberland, RI) earning the assist, and Esce followed with an unassisted tally. Esce then set up Laurin once again to complete her first-quarter hat trick as Hartwick dominated possession. The Hawks fired nine shots on goal compared to SUNY Poly's one and went a perfect 5-for-5 on clear attempts to carry a five-goal lead into the second quarter.

The Laurin-Esce tandem continued to shine in the second, connecting for another goal early in the frame. Lily Dempsey (Glenville, N.Y.) added her first of the day off an assist from Ashley Ament (Sayreville, N.J.) as Hartwick kept rolling. First-years Jackie Owens (Poughquag, NY) and Shea Holloway (Fort Johnson, NY) each found the back of the net, with Maura Donoghue (Paramus, N.J.) assisting Holloway's tally. Decker scored in a woman-up situation to trigger the running clock with a ten-goal cushion. Dempsey added another woman-up strike before Ament closed out Hartwick's first-half scoring, finishing a feed from Esce. The Wildcats scored with eight seconds remaining, but the Hawks still carried a commanding 12-1 lead into halftime.

Defense took over in the second half as scoring slowed. Decker secured her hat trick in the third quarter off a pass from Laurin, and Skurka added a woman-up goal from Dempsey. Holloway capped Hartwick's scoring with her second of the afternoon, assisted by Esce. SUNY Poly found some late offense in the fourth, outscoring the Hawks 3-0, but Hartwick comfortably cruised to the 15-5 conference victory.

UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
The Hawks will return to action on Saturday, April 18, hosting Keuka for Senior Day at 12 p.m. at Wright Stadium.
