August Nets USILA Team of the Week Recognition

ONEONTA, N.Y. – Colin August (Garrison, N.Y.) has been selected to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Team of the Week for his efforts during the week of April 13.

The standout attackman earned his third national weekly honor of his career, previously being named to the Division III Team of the Week during both his sophomore and junior seasons. The recognition places August among the top performers across Division III for the week.

August was virtually unguardable in a flawless weekend for the Blue and White, pouring in 12 goals to lead the Hawks past Russell Sage and Alfred while also adding four caused turnovers and nine ground balls. He opened the stretch with a five-goal performance in an 18-5 win over Russell Sage before putting on a show on Senior Day.

Against the Saxons, August buried seven goals on eight shots on target and added four caused turnovers in a crucial conference victory. He matched his career-high with seven goals, continuing his climb up the program leaderboards as the Hawks leaned on him throughout the contest.

The senior recorded his 127th career goal during the week, tying Hartwick Hall of Famer and program points leader Ross Pino '02 for fourth-most in program history. August currently ranks 16th in Division III in goals per game, averaging 3.82.

The Garrison product has found the back of the net in all but one contest this season, totaling 11 hat tricks in his senior campaign. He has reached the seven-goal mark twice this year, first in a non-conference matchup against Farmingdale State on February 28 and again against Alfred. August has also scored five goals in five separate games this season against Oswego, Oneonta, Geneseo, Russell Sage, and SUNY Poly.

August added six more goals in last night's victory (April 15), moving into sole possession of fourth place in program history with 133 career goals. He is also currently tied for fifth all-time in single-season goals with 48.

August and the Hawks have three contests remaining as they push toward a return trip to the Empire 8 Tournament. The Blue and White travel to Keuka on Saturday before hosting Utica in a pivotal conference clash on April 22, then close the regular season against No. 9 St. John Fisher on April 25 at Wright Stadium.
