Matt Rogers

Matt Rogers joined the coaching staff at Hartwick in March of 2025, now entering his first season with the Hawks. He comes to Hartwick after most recently serving as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Wilkes University in 2024. In his stint with the Colonels, he led a record-breaking offense that ranked in the top 50 nationally in rushing, scoring, red-zone efficiency and first downs. Individually at Wilkes, Rogers coached eight All-Conference players, including quarterback and standout running back Elijah Jules, who tied for the national lead with 20 rushing touchdowns.

Prior to his time at Wilkes, Rogers spent three years at SUNY Morrisville as assistant head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. With the Mustangs, Rogers led an offense that improved in every statistical category including yards per game, yards per play, passing yards and passing touchdowns. In 2022, he helped Morrisville increase their win total by five games and earn a postseason bid for the first time since 2019. While there, Rogers also coached 16 All-Conference players, including quarterbacks, in back-to-back years in 2022 and 2023.

Rogers first began his coaching career at his alma mater, Utica University, where he graduated in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in journalism. At Utica, he acted as running backs coach from 2016 to 2019, where he led the unit to two single-season and two all-time leading rushers in 2016 and 2018. The Pioneers also reached the postseason twice under his leadership as coach in New York, including the program's first victory in the 2018 ECAC Scotty Whitelaw Bowl.

An active member of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), Rogers also is a respected recruiter in the states of New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

In 2019, Rogers also received a master's in liberal studies from Utica University.
