Michael Cunningham was added to the Hartwick Football coaching staff in July of 2025, entering his first season with the Hawks.
Cunningham comes to Hartwick after concluding his own playing career as a four-year defensive line starter at McDaniel College this past spring.
During his time as a player, Cunningham was an instrumental part of the McDaniel defense, tallying up a career total of 48 solo tackles and 56 assisted tackles in 33 games. He also recorded sixteen tackles for loss, resulting in a total loss of fifty-five yards for opposing offenses, as well as 5.5 sacks for a loss of 31 yards.
