Cooper Calzonetti

Cooper Calzonetti begins his second season as the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Hartwick College following a two-year stint at Division I Iona College. He assists ’Wick Head Coach Waleed Farid in all aspects of the program.

This past season, Calzonetti helped lead freshman Kevin Townes to D3hoops.com East Region and Empire 8 Rookie of the Year honors. It marks the third time since 2011 a Hartwick player has garnered top rookie honors in the region and the sixth time within the E8.
 
At Iona, Calzonetti served as the Director of Basketball Operations, Video Coordinator, and Graduate Manager. During Calzonetti’s tenure on the sideline, the program amassed over 40 wins, earned back-to-back Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships, and earned a pair of trips to the NCAA Tournament.
 
He spearheaded and coordinated the video exchange program which included editing and breaking down game and practice film. Additionally, he produced scouting tapes for each contest, disseminated personnel reports for all coaches and student-athletes and assisted in team travel itineraries and meals.
 
Calzonetti also monitored student-athlete academic progress including but not limited to class and study hall schedules, which boasted a 100% graduation rate.
 
He also had a hand in recruiting and was responsible for tracking and logging all prospective student-athletes for coaches and applicable personnel’s accessibility. Calzonetti also assumed the role of the Assistant Director of the Iona College Boys Basketball Summer Camp while fostering relationships with various high school, junior college, and AAU coaches.
 
The Neptune, NJ product was a four-year member of Medaille College’s men’s basketball team from 2011-2015. The two-year captain appeared in 100 games, netting 351 points in 13.8 minutes per game. Calzonetti played in all but one game over his final three seasons and had his best year as a senior when he started all 26 games he appeared in while averaging 6.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.4 assists down low. Calzonetti helped his team to two NCAA Division III Tournament berths following Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship wins.
 
Calzonetti earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications from Medaille College in May 2016.
