Dell2012

Rachel Dell

Rachel Dell enters her fifth season at the helm of the Hartwick women's lacrosse program in 2011-12.

This past spring, Dell piloted the Hawks to their most successful season in recent memory with a 7-8 overall mark. The seven victories is tied for the second-highest win total in the last 10 years at Hartwick. At the conclusion of the season, junior Brittany LaVaute, and freshmen Brittany McCabe and Morgan Galipeau received Empire 8 recognition.

Dell came to Hartwick after serving as head coach at Elmira College from 2005-07. After serving as an assistant for the Soaring Eagles in the 2005 campaign, the Corning, NY native was elevated to the head coaching position in July of 2005. In her first year, Dell guided Elmira to a school-record 11 wins and the program's first and only appearance in the Empire 8 Conference Championship game.

During her stint at Elmira, Dell was instrumental in the development of 15 all-conference honorees, one league player of the year, three New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association Regional selections, as well as coaching one United States Women's Lacrosse World Cup Developmental Team hopeful. In addition to her duties as head women's lacrosse coach at Elmira, she also was the head field hockey coach for the same two-year period. Dell guided the Soaring Eagles to 10 victories in her two seasons with the program.

Prior to joining the staff at Elmira, Dell served as junior varsity goalie coach at Corning-Painted Post High School, where the team posted a 13-1 record in 2004.

Dell, who holds undergraduate degrees in French and English from St. Bonaventure University, was a four-year letterwinner in lacrosse for the Bonnies. She completed her master's degree in Education from Elmira in June 2007.
