Lyle Howe begins his first season as assistant women’s soccer coach in fall 2021. He comes to Hartwick after spending last season as an assistant coach at Nyack College.
With the Warriors, Howe specialized in goalkeeper training, recruiting, and video analysis. He created and ran training sessions for goalkeepers, small groups, and full team practices, and also worked with other departments to help ensure total health of student-athletes. While there, Howe helped the men’s soccer team to their first national ranking in program history.
Howe played collegiately at Saint Thomas University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications in 2013. While there he captained the Bobcats and led them to the Sun Conference championship, also earning a nod for conference defensive player of the year.
After graduation, Howe moved overseas to Berlin, Germany, where he played for both FC Spandau and TSG Neustrelitz, while also taking on some training and youth coaching duties as well.
After coming back stateside, Howe took a position as a graduate assistant for the Nyack men’s and women’s soccer programs. He graduated summa cum laude with an MBA from Nyack in December 2017, and thereafter spent over two years teaching and coaching youth players in New York City before he returned to Nyack as a full-time coach.
