Kowalczyk joined an elite class earning the Cacchione Cup title for the High Point Rider of the Year in Zone II Region III. As a result, she earns a trip to the national show in late April. Kowalczyk will join six other scholar-athletes at the regional event on April 1. She will compete in both the Open Flat and Open Fences classifications. On Saturday, Kowalczyk would take the blue ribbon in Open Fences for the Hawks’ lone first-place finish. She would also take fifth in Open Flat.
