Rio Dhat (Auckland, New Zealand/Epping Boys). Bowling Green would tie the score inside of 22 minutes in the second half.
"We gave each other problems in the game that forced saves to be made," said Hartwick head coach
John Scott. "We wanted more from the game for sure, but a share of the spoils keeps us in the mix."
The Falcons earned the first solid chance of the match barely a minute into the game after a Hartwick foul produced a BGSU free kick. Danny Baraldi stepped up for the kick and forced a great save from 'Wick keeper
Mateo Munarriz (Manizales, Colombia/Colegio Granadino) to keep the hosts off the scoreboard in the early going.
Hartwick broke the ice in the 33
rd minute following a corner kick. Dhat took the corner and the ball popped back out to him on the far sideline. He served the ball back into the Falcon box and goalkeeper Michael Wiest got his hands to it in traffic but the ball came loose before he came down with it. It fell to Robertson who one-timed his shot into the goal for the 1-0 Hartwick lead. The goal marked his first career tally in a Hartwick uniform for the four-year defender (

The Hawks nearly made it 2-0 in the late stages of the first half.
Nick Hills (Garden Suburb, Australia/U. of Newcastle) had an opportunity on goal in the 38

The teams battled through over 21 minutes of action in the second half before the Falcons tied it. Ryan Comiskey registered his second goal of the season with Brandon Silva chipping in with the assist off a corner.
"I was delighted that we capitalized on a loose ball in the box from a corner on the opening goal," stated Scott, "but also disappointed that we didn't get the ball to safety from the corner they scored from."
The Falcons would hold a 6-3 edge in shots for the rest of regulation play but the match headed to extra time.
The Hawks had the only shot of the first overtime with Hills forcing a stop from Wiest.
In the second extra frame, Bowling Green had a 3-1 edge in shots. A Baraldi shot generated a save from Munarriz in the 108
th minute. Hills had the final chance with a shot on target that Wiest corralled with less than 10 ticks remaining.
Munarriz made six saves in the contest for the Hawks. Wiest stopped five Hartwick shots for Bowling Green. The Falcons would hold an 18-11 edge in shots in the match.
