ALFRED, NY – For the second straight day, the Hartwick women's soccer team played a full 110 minutes and came away with a draw. Yesterday the Hawks tied Houghton 1-1. Today, they out-shot the Alfred University Saxons 20-6, but couldn't come away with the game-winner in a 0-0 stalemate. It snaps a nine-game win streak against AU dating back to 2006.
With the tie, the Hawks are 8-2-2 on the season. 'Wick is still in fourth place in the league standings at 2-1-2 with three Empire 8 games remaining on its schedule.
The Hawks held an 11-1 edge in shots in the opening 45 minutes and held a 4-1 edge in the two overtimes.

Megan McGillycuddy (Glenville, NY/Scotia-Glenville) made three saves in the match to earn her fifth clean sheet of the year. Sammy Jo Shanahan made seven saves in the Alfred goal.
Hartwick plays on Saturday, October 17 in its next match. The Hawks host Nazareth on Elmore Field at 2 p.m.
