UTICA, NY – On Wednesday evening, the Hartwick women's volleyball team earned a 3-2 victory over non-conference opponent, SUNY Poly. Behind senior

(Lansing, NY/Lansing) second-consecutive double-double performance, the Hawks move out to 6-15 on the season. The Wildcats fall to 14-7.
The outside hitter led her team in kills (16) and also added 13 digs.
Hartwick and SUNY Poly kept it close in the early part of the first set, 11 -11, until the Hawks won the next six points. From there, the Hawks did not look back eventually claiming the 1-0 advantage on a 25-18 set score.
The Wildcats grabbed the second and third set to take the 2-1 advantage on the evening. SUNY Poly earned .211 hitting in the second. For the third, the home side hit .207 and held Hartwick to a negative clip.

Rosa Maun (Redstone, CO/Roaring Fork) sailed the ball over the net to tie things up at 20 apiece. Hartwick would conclude the set on a 5-1 run, 25-21, to force the fifth set.
In the deciding set, the Hawks benefitted from an 8-1 run late, 11-6. Defensively, Hartwick forced SUNY Poly into some crucial errors ultimately resulting in its set win, 15-9, and match, 3-2.
Reidy registered 14 digs and added 31 assists on the evening.
Maun tied her season-high of eight blocks this match tallying one solo block and seven block assists. She also connected for 12 kills.
Rachel Jones (West Charlton, NY/Galway) posted 10 kills and stopped three balls while
Alyssa Zeitler (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) credited three service aces, 12 digs and two assists.
The Hawks get back to Empire 8 action next Saturday, October 22
nd as they battle the Nazareth Golden Flyers and Elmira Soaring Eagles in Rochester, NY.
