ITHACA, NY – Hartwick's men's and women's swimming and diving teams traveled to host Ithaca's A&E Center Aquatics Pavilion in a tri-meet featuring the host Bombers and SUNY Geneseo. Both teams went 0-2 on Sunday afternoon and drop to 5-4 on their respective seasons.
Against the Knights, the Hartwick men fell 207-92 and to Ithaca lost 157-127. On the women's side, the Hawks fell 246-54 to the Geneseo and 232-68 to Ithaca.
The Bombers are now 5-2 overall on the season. SUNY Geneseo's men stay unbeaten at 5-0 while the women are 4-1 on the year.
Senior
Brendan Quinn (Raleigh, NC/Heritage) led the men finishing with two first-place finishes overall while junior
Maddy Hayes' (Eagan, MN/Eagan) winning of the 100-yard freestyle marked the only top finish on the women's end.
Quinn tallied the first win for the Hawks in the meet, as he swam in 9:55.72 in the 1000-yard freestyle. In the 500-yard freestyle, Quinn would also earn the fastest time to a win in 4:48.95.
Freshman
Ryan McLoughlin (New Windsor, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) came in third in the 100-yard breaststroke, swimming in 1:01.22. Senior
Joe Mulvehill (Penfield, NY/Penfield) and junior
David Mauro (Queensbury, NY/Glens Falls) took fourth and fifth place recognition in the 50-yard freestyle, swimming in the respective times of 22.23 and 22.28. Senior
Zane Grunewald (New Windsor, NY/Newburgh Free Academy) came in third in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:59.68.
Freshman
Yury Chernyak (Sidney, NY/Sidney) (2:13.99) and McLoughlin (2:15.10) came in second and third place, respectively, in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Sophomore
Aron Zhang (Douglaston, NY/Brooklyn Technical) swam to third in 53.46 in the 100-yard butterfly.
Hayes swam to second in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:00.44 behind Nancy Nasky's 1:58.77 mark.
Senior
Ally Agate (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) finished in third with a 2:19.47 time in the 200-yard IM.
Next weekend, Hartwick returns to A&E Center Aquatics Pavilion for the Ithaca Invitational, December 2

th to round out the calendar year.
