ONEONTA, NY – On Saturday at Lambros Arena, the Hartwick women's volleyball team fell against two conference opponents in an Empire 8 crossover. Alfred took Hartwick to five sets before tallying the win, 3-2 by the scores of 17-25, 25-11, 28-26, 20-25 and 15-9. Houghton outplayed the Hawks in three sets by the scores of 25-18, 27-25 and 25-17. Hartwick drops to 5-8 (1-3 E8). With Houghton gathering the win over Alfred, their season mark stands at 6-5 (2-1 E8). Alfred is 7-9 overall and 1-1 in conference.
Hannah Armstrong (Lansing, NY/Lansing) was the kills leader in both matches. She tied a match-high 18 in the first contest on .222 hitting and led in the second match with 13. The senior now has 158 (3.59 k/s) kills this season. She also tabbed nine digs in the Hawks' final match of the day.

Alyssa Zeitler (Chardon, OH/Berkshire) totaled 26 digs in the two matches. Zeitler and defensive specialist
Paige Bailey (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) both contributed 10 digs against Houghton.
Jamie Reidy (Elmira, NY/Horseheads) credited 28 of her team's 45 helpers against Alfred. The sophomore added 16 more versus Houghton. She now has 272 assists in 2016.
Right side
Rosa Maun (Redstone, CO/Roaring Fork) registered eight kills in each match including a .318 hitting clip versus Houghton. The junior now has 90 for the season on .215 hitting.
The Hawks will pause Empire 8 action and battle Sage in a non-conference match on September 27
