ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick won both of its matches over Bard and Baruch by 3-1 scores on Friday at the Oneonta State Dig Pink Invitational. The Hawks' overall record now stands at 12-15.
Against the Raptors, the Hawks took the first two sets 25-11, and 25-19. Bard came back to win the third set, 25-21, but Hartwick closed out the match in the fourth, taking the set 25-21.
Rosa Maun (Redstone, CO/Roaring Fork) had a team-high nine kills.
Ashley Smatko (Fort Edward, NY/South Glens Falls) contributed six.
Erin Russell (Wantagh, NY/Seaford) led Hartwick with a match-high 23 digs and a team-high 17 assists.
Ashley Werner (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) added 20 digs for the Hawks.
Jamie Reidy (Elmira, NY/Horseheads) had 13 digs and
Andrea Debboli (Troy, NY/Averill Park) recorded 10.
In their second match against the Bearcats, the Hawks dropped the opening set 25-22 but rallied for the next three, 25-19, 25-14, 25-12.
Maun had the match-high in kills with 10.
Kaitlyn Ludder (West Sand Lake, NY/Averill Park) contributed nine kills with
Nicole Wyse (Manchester, CT/South Windsor) notching seven and Smatko adding six.
Reidy led all players with 24 digs. Werner chipped in with 19 digs.
Rachel Griffing (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) had 15 and Russell added 13. Russell would also deliver 31 assists. Wyse had four solo blocks.
Hartwick wraps up its regular season tomorrow against Elmira and host Oneonta.
