ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – Hartwick swept all 16 events with 10 different Hawks registering individual wins as the women's swimming and diving team defeated Bard College 158-47 on Saturday. With the dual meet win, Hartwick improves to 5-4 on the season.
Senior
Natalie Athans (Victor, NY/Victor), sophomore
Olivia Bart (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern), and freshmen
Cecelia Mowrey (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) and
Samantha Sterck (Weston, CT/Weston) each placed first in a pair of events to lead the Hawks.
Athans won the 200 breast (2:42.65) and the 200 IM (2:31.37) with Bart placing first in the 50 free (25.77) and 100 free (57.49). Mowrey won both the 200 fly (2:20.26) and 100 fly (1:04.11) and Sterck took both diving events with scores of 141.68 (1-meter) and 179.25 (3-meter).
Rachel Mumma (Northridge, CA/Grenada Hills Charter),
Maddy Hayes (Eagan, MN/Eagan),
Channing Lewis (Canton, OH/Canton McKinley),
Meghan Maloney (Staten Island, NY/Fontbonne Hall Academy),
Tori Argentieri (East Amherst, NY/Clarence), and
Sierra Garcia (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) also registered wins for the Hawks.
Mumma won the 1000 free in 11:53.82 with Hayes equaling the feat in the 200 free (2:08.20). Lewis was first in the 100 back (1:06.66). Maloney won the 100 breast (2:30.10). Argentieri touched up first in the 200 back (2:20.12), and Garcia was tops in the 500 free (5:50.43).
Bart,
Amanda Olivo (Nutley, NJ/Nutley), Argentieri, and Garcia would team up to take the 200 medley relay in 2:06.38. Mowrey,
Emma Reining (Hyde Park, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt), Garcia, and Bart combined to win the 200 free relay in 1:49.90.
Hartwick is off until it competes in the Ithaca Invitational, which runs from December 1-3.
