DELHI, NY – Winning their third set by the largest margin of victory, the Hartwick women's volleyball team completed a 3-0 sweep over host SUNY Delhi on Tuesday evening. The win elevates the Hawks' season clip to 4-5 while the Broncos fall to 0-5 on the year.
The season-high 19-point set win captured in the third, 25-6, followed the Hawks first and second set wins, 25-19 and 25-17, respectively.
Paige Bailey (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) and
Maria Sorriento (Troy, NY/Troy) each landed a game-high seven kills while
Erin Russell (Wantagh, NY/Seaford) led all with 24 helpers.
Katie Boak (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) (8) and Sorriento (7) added digs with
Rosa Maun (Redstone, CO/Roaring Fork) and
Falon Treis (Delanson, NY/Duanesburg) sharing a block on the Hawks' defensive end.
Hartwick hosts a tournament this weekend and will face three opponents. Friday, September 8, the Hawks will battle Lycoming for a second time this season. The following day, the host will challenge Plattsburgh State at 5 p.m. and Penn State Abington at 7 p.m.
