SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – It took nearly 75 minutes, but a Hartwick header goal from midfielder
Rachel Pine (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls) would provide the game's only goal in a 1-0 Hawks' victory over Skidmore Tuesday night at Wachenheim Field in Saratoga Springs.
The win lifts 'Wick to a 5-2 overall record. Skidmore falls to 2-4 on the season.
Pine scored the clincher on a restart. The service came off of the foot of
Sierra Bentley (Worcester, NY/Schenevus), her team-leading fifth assist of the season.
In the final 15 minutes, the Hawks only allowed Skidmore one shot which was off target. Hartwick would end the night with a 13-6 advantage in shots.
Celeste Trevellini (Bayside, NY/World Journalism Prep) and
Cassandra Robataille (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) combined on the clean sheet despite not having to make a save all night.
