Recap: Hartwick won the fifth and deciding set 15-11 to take down host Skidmore College by a count of 3-2 Thursday in a marathon match that nearly eclipsed the two and a half hour mark. Notes: The Hawks defeat the Thoroughbreds for the first time in program history. They snapped a 23-match winless streak which occurred from 1995-2011. Tonight marked the sixth 5-set match for the Hawks this season and second in a row. Hartwick is 4-2 in those matches.
Â
Up Next: The Hawks are off until Saturday, October 20 when they wrap up the Empire 8 regular season at Utica. The Hawks oppose the host Pioneers at 11 a.m. and play Alfred at 1:30 p.m.
