Recap: Before the match, the Hawks honored seniors Andrea Debboli (Troy, NY/Averill Park) and Jamie Reidy (Elmira, NY/Horseheads) in recognition of their final home match. Hartwick started off strong, using four kills apiece from Myla Dobson (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) and Celia Gagnon (Kinderhook, NY/Ichabod Crane) to take the first set, 25-15. The second set was more of the same; Dobson and Gagnon added three more kills each, as did Maria Sorriento (Troy, NY/Troy). The Hawks won the set, 25-12. The third and final set was again all Hartwick from start to finish. Dell Potts (Niverville, NY/Ichabod Crane) had six kills in the set, giving her nine for the day, as the Hawks won the set, 25-16, and match, 3-0.
 
Gagnon led all comers with 10 assists, followed up by Potts with nine (on an uber-efficient 13 attempts, good for a .692 hitting percentage), and Dobson and Kaitlyn Ludder (West Sand Lake, NY/Averill Park) with seven each. Ludder also had a match-high ten digs. Reidy had 32 assists in the match, by far the most of any player, and had the set on the game-winning kill (by Potts) in her final home match. The Hawks hit an impressive .304 on the evening, with 42 kills and 11 errors on 102 attempts.
 
Up Next: Hartwick travels across West St. over the weekend for the Oneonta Invitational, where they will play their final matches of the season. They take on the host Red Dragons on Friday, October 26 at 4 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, October 27 against Baruch and St. Lawrence at 12 and 4 p.m., respectively.
