ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick out-scored Utica 14-0 in the second half to pull away for a 19-3 victory on Wednesday at Wright Stadium. The Hawks scored nine times in the third quarter alone in the win. 'Wick is now 7-3 overall and 3-2 in the Empire 8. The Pioneers drop to 6-7 and 2-3.
Sam Ferguson (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) scored a game-high five goals with
Cordell Armstrong (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area) contributing four tallies.
Justin Curreri (Miller Place, NY/Rocky Point) scored three goals and added two assists.
Wyatt Long (Hardwick, NJ/Blair Academy) tacked on two goals and two assists.
Chris VanDemark (Painted Post, NY/Corning-Painted Post) recorded two goals and one helper, and
Tim Watson (Wrentham, MA/King Philip Regional) added two goals.
Brett Maguire (Adams Center, NY/South Jefferson) dished out a game-high four assists with
Nick Couvaris (Seaford, NY/Seaford) adding two.
The Hawks out-shot the Pioneers 54-14 in the game. They grabbed 37 ground balls to Utica's 21 and won the face-off battle 15-11.
Eric Schweitzer (Babylon, NY/Babylon) earned a game-high 10 ground balls.
Garrison Wojtas (Hauppauge, NY/Hauppauge) had a game-high five caused turnovers and five ground balls. Couvaris had four ground balls.
C.J. Alesandrini (Schenectady, NY/Colonie) made six saves in the opening 53 minutes.
Connor O'Brien (Duxbury, MA/Duxbury) played the final seven minutes but did not have to make a save.
