Venue: Oneonta, NY – Elmore Field

Recap: Hartwick fell from the unbeaten ranks after a St. Lawrence goal late in the second overtime period handed the Saints a 2-1 win on Friday at Elmore Field. Katie Clemmer headed in the game-winner with 2:09 remaining on the clock for the Saints' clincher. Madelyn Sumple served up the assist playing a free kick from 40 yards away into the box. Clemmer got to it first, heading home to the far post. The Saints got on the scoreboard 3:32 into the second half after a scoreless opening 45 minutes. Kira Murphy served a corner kick into the box and it took a deflection off a Hartwick defender and into the Hawks' net to give SLU the lead. The advantage lasted for just over 19 minutes as the Hawks evened the match at the 67:55 mark. A Dana Caputo (Commack, NY/Commack) cross from the left side of St. Lawrence's goal found its way across the box to Gabrielle Kreppein (Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls) who fired a shot from the top of the 18 that caught the underside of the crossbar and bounced down over the line for the 1-1 deadlock. The two teams would finish even in shots in the second half, 3-3. The Saints took all three shots of the first overtime. The Hawks had the first two in the second overtime until Clemmer's winner. Cassandra Robataille (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) made six saves in the match for the Hawks, who slip to 4-1-1. Samantha Allen stopped two shots in the Saints' goal.

Game Notes: Today featured two of the top teams in the East Region. The Saints came in ranked fifth while the Hawks were the first team out of the top ten in the "receiving votes" classification.
