Recap: Visiting Stevens used a two-goal first half to claim a 2-0 victory over Hartwick in Empire 8 women's soccer Saturday on Elmore Field. The Ducks put the pressure on the Hawks early and they broke through in the 7
th minute. Zisi Komar played a short cross in front of the goal to Misha Brewster who played it into an open goal for the go-ahead strike. Roughly 15 minutes later, the duo hooked up again. Brewster one-timed a Komar pass into the net for the insurance marker and the Ducks were in front 2-0. Eight different players registered shots in the game for Hartwick, which included
Zoe Capanna's (Los Angeles, CA/Palisades Center) three. Capanna,
Katie Weaver (Baldwinsville, NYC.W. Baker),
Kiley Richardson (Flanders, NJ/Roxbury), and
Sara McGiff (Brookhaven, NY/St. Anthony's) each put shots on frame. 'Wick keeper
Cassandra Robataille (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) was credited with two saves. Erika McCarthy of Stevens stopped four.
Game Notes: Hartwick entered the game ranked eighth in the latest United Soccer Coaches East Regional Poll while the Ducks were in the "receiving votes" classification.
