Recap: A goal with 29 minutes remaining in the game held up as host RPI defeated Hartwick 1-0 on Wednesday night at East Campus Stadium. Emily Dunn got the goal for the Engineers with a long-range shot over the head of Hartwick keeper Cassandra Robataille (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam). Maddie Steinmetz picked up the assist. The Hawks pressed for the tying goal in the second half but it never came. The closest the Hawks came down the stretch was with approximately five minutes left. A low free kick made it all the way through the box and just out of reach of Alexa DuBois (Hobart, NY/South Kortright) who slid to get a foot on the ball on the far post. In the first half with roughly 13 minutes left, Sara McGiff (Brookhaven, NY/St. Anthony's) had her shot robbed by RPI keeper Joey Lyons. Seconds later, Tanner Reed (Unadilla, NY/Unatego Central) had a shot cleared off the line by an RPI defender. Gabrielle Kreppein (Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls) had the Hawks' first chance of the second half near the three-minute mark. Her shot from the corner of the 18-yard box struck the crossbar. The game ended with the Engineers holding an 11-10 edge in shots. The Hawks earned six corners to RPI's two. Robataille closed the match with four saves for 'Wick. Lyons stopped two for the hosts.

Game Notes: Hartwick falls to 13-12-2 against the Engineers all-time. The win for RPI breaks a streak of four games in the series in which the visiting team has come away with the victory.

Up Next: Hartwick hosts Alfred on September 29 in an Empire 8 contest beginning at 4 p.m.
