Recap: Hartwick came out flying in the first set, taking it to the visiting Golden Flyers, but the visitors responded in the next three sets to take the victory on Saturday at Lambros Arena. 'Wick won the first five points of the match and opened up a 19-5 advantage at one point. The Flyers would climb back to a seven-point deficit but the Hawks closed it out with the final two points, sealed by a Celia Gagnon (Kinderhook, NY/Ichabod Crane) kill for a 25-16 win. Nazareth never trailed in the second set, which it won 25-14. The third set was tight with Naz leading by only a point, 11-10. The Golden Flyers would record the next three points and they never led by less than three the rest of the set in a 25-20 win. The fourth set was all Nazareth. The Hawks would drop 10 of the final 11 points as the Flyers took the set 25-9 and the match. Maria Sorriento (Troy, NY/Troy) registered nine kills and five digs for the Hawks. Kiera Walsh (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) added eight kills and a match-high eight digs. Gannon had six kills and Dell Potts (Niverville, NY/Ichabod Crane) contributed four. Jamie Reidy (Elmira, NY/Horseheads) accumulated 24 assists. She also had six digs. Katie Boak (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) recorded five digs.
