HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Hawks picked up a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon in a key Empire 8 matchup at Houghton.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 

• The Highlanders picked up an early goal in the 9^th minute of play, but were unable to find the back of the net again as Hawks senior goalkeeper, Sara Staup (Woodinville, Wash.) recorded five saves on the afternoon.
• Despite outshooting Houghton 14-8 across the contest, Hartwick was not able to find the equalizer through the first half, or the first 19 minutes of the second half.
• However, Madi McGuire (Goshen, N.Y.) changed that with a strike in the 65^th minute.  Arianna Alvarez (Center Moriches, N.Y.) picked up the assist.
• Time wound down on both the Highlanders and the Hawks, and both teams would have to settle for the tie.
