ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hartwick Hawks Men's Swimming and Diving defeated town rival, Oneonta State on Saturday afternoon with a 191-96 victory.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Hawks set the tone early in the meet, taking the 1st and 3rd spots in the 200-yard medley relay.
- Hartwick followed that up with a 1-2-3 finish in the 1000-yard freestyle. Brady Haraden (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) took the top spot, while Nic Canney (Chandler, Ariz.) and Lane Rawls (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) took second and third respectively.
- One event later, the Hawks swam to another 1-2-3 finish in the 200-yard freestyle. Dawson Tupponce (Phoenix, Ariz.) finished first, followed by Nick Tirrell (Turner, Me.) and Rawls.
- Sebastian Knowles (Plano, Tex.) and Evan Nezat (Jacksonville, N.C.) went 1-2 in the 100-yard breaststroke with less than two-tenths of a second difference between their finishes.
- Nezat also picked up a win for the Hawks in the 200-yard breaststroke.
- Mikey Schultz (Binghamton, N.Y.) had another strong meet for Hartwick, picking up wins in the 200-yard butterfly, the 100-yard butterfly, and the 200-yard individual medley. The junior also led the Hawks to a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay to open the men's events with Knowles, Tupponce, and Reid Sinkinson (Telford, Pa.).
