SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Hawks dropped a back-and-forth affair in overtime at Union on Wednesday night.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The host Dutchwomen got on board first, scoring just 50 seconds into the contest.
- However, the Hawks responded in the second quarter with Lex Matarazzo (Commack, N.Y.) finding the back of the cage at the 20:15 mark after beating the Union keeper to the ball for the score. Julie Ruzzi (High Falls, N.Y.) picked up the assist.
- Matarazzo struck again just under two minutes later to give the Hawks a 2-1 lead. Leah Tolley (Pittsford, N.Y.) was credited with the assist after sending a pass from the far end line in front of the cage.
- Hartwick extended their lead early in the third quarter, converting a corner opportunity. Tolley put the ball away, while Libby Fortin (State College, Pa.) picked up the assist for the 3-1 lead.
- The Dutchwomen rallied back, cutting the Hawks' lead to just one tally two minutes later.
- Union evened the game up at 3-3 putting away a rebound in the first minute of play in the fourth.
- The score remained deadlocked for the remainder of the fourth quarter and the contest headed into overtime.
- The home squad wasted little time in picking up the golden goal, finding the game-winner just 44 seconds into OT.
