ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hawks used all three keepers on Saturday and the trio recorded a shut out as Hartwick defeated Nazareth 6-0 in Empire 8 action.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Hawks flew out of the gate on Saturday morning scoring at the 1:21 mark in the first quarter.
- Lex Matarazzo (Commack, N.Y.) found the back of the cage redirecting Julie Ruzzi's (High Falls, N.Y.) drive into the circle.
- Just over 10 minutes later, Ruzzi worked her magic again, this time centering a pass to Sydney Gagnon (Chestertown, N.Y.) to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead.
- Ashley Tricarico (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) found the back of the cage for her first of the game in the 26th minute after putting away a rebound into the left corner.
- Up 3-0, the Hartwick offense quited in the third despite getting off four shots.
- However, the Hawks got things going again in the fourth, picking up three goals in a span of 7 minutes.
- Matarazzo picked up her second goal of the game in the 48th minute beating the Golden Flyers' keeper with a shot off of a Leah Tolley (Pittsford, N.Y.) pass.
- Holly Calore (Rocky Point, N.Y.) got in on the action in the 51st minute after finding the back of the cage from another Tolley pass.
- Tricarico wrapped up the scoring for the Hawks with her second of the game on a breakaway in the 54th minute.
- Madison Maddocks (Garrison, N.Y.) recorded the win in goal for Hartwick, playing the first 30 minutes of the contest. Maddocks combined with Ashley Luppens (Wading River, N.Y.) and Amanda Klopper (Randolph, N.J.) for the clean sheet. Collectively, the three recorded three saves.
