Tennis Sweeps Mount Saint Mary for 2nd Win in a Row

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hartwick Hawks women's tennis team picked up their first win of the 2022 season in convincing fashion, defeating Oneonta State 9-0.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 
  • The Hawks made quick work of the Knights on Saturday afternoon, picking up another 9-0 non-conference victory.
  • Highlighting the team's efforts in doubles were the 1 and 3 positions as both tandems did not allow their opponents to take a set.
  • Damita Bollers (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Jade Killikelly (Jamaica, N.Y.) won their first doubles match 8-0, while the third doubles team of Maddi Morrison (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) and Maggie Van Valkenburgh did the same.
  • While all six singles players won each of their matches decisively, it was Van Valkenburgh at 6th singles who came away with the 6-0 victory in both sets.
 
UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
 
The Hawks will hit the road on Wednesday, September 4 for another non-conference test.  Hartwick will travel to SUNY Cortland to take on the Red Dragons at 1 PM.
