WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Sage doubled up the Hawks 12-6 just under 7 minutes into the contest, forcing the Hawks into a timeout.
- Out of that timeout, Hartwick cut the Gator's lead to three with a three-pointer in the corner from Bobby Connors (Rockville Centre, N.Y.).
- The Hawks knotted the score at 14-14 mid-way through the first half.
- Sage pulled away once more, but Hartwick stayed on their heels, eventually tying the score at 21-21 with back-to-back layups from Jeremiah Boateng (Springfield, Va.).
- Cooper Francis (Lynbrook, N.Y.) put the Hawks up 24-23 with a streaking layup followed by an and-one with just over five minutes remaining in the half.
- Hartwick would stay ahead from there, taking a 33-28 lead into halftime.
- The Hawks stayed ahead of an early Sage push in the second half as Sammuel Prosper (Milford, Mass.) and Kevin Felasco (Liverpool, N.Y.) got hot from behind the arc.
- Hartwick looked to pull away through the middle minutes of the second half, but the Gators kept hanging around, not allowing the Hawks' to extend their lead beyond seven points.
- Sage eventually caught up to Hartwick, tying the game 55-55 with just over six minutes left in the contest.
- The contest went back and forth from there with six lead changes over those last six minutes of play.
- The teams would end up deadlocked at 68-68 with seven seconds left on the clock.
- Sage inbounded the ball and took it end line to end line where Todd Williamson would be fouled with one second left on the clock.
- Williamson went on to make both free throws to take a 70-68 lead.
- After a quick Hartwick turnover, Prosper fouled Jackson Brown to conserve time on the clock, but Brown made both to ice the game 72-68.
- Felasco ended the game with a career-high 25 points.
- Boateng added 18 points, while Francis completed the double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
