Oneonta, N.Y. – The Hartwick Women's Swim and Dive team hosted Empire 8 conference opponent Nazareth for a dual meet.

The Hawks got the day started with a first place finish in the 200 yard medley relay. Bree Dy(Matawan, NJ), Min-Syun Chen(Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), Amanda Wilbur(Watkins Glen, N.Y.) and Courtney Pierce(Fulton, N.Y) combined for a time of 1:57.97.

Cate Russo(San Pedro, Cal.) kept the momentum going, taking first place in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:39.77, twelve seconds ahead of second place.

Ellie Baird(Wilton, NY) made it three straight events for Hartwick as she finished the 200 yard freestyle in first with a time of 2:05.69.

Chen has continued her strong debut season so far, taking the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.19.

After some close finishes would go in favor of Nazareth, Baird got the Hawks back on track with a first place finish in the 100 yard freestyle, clocking in at 58:54.

Chen and Russo would both take another event for Hartwick as Chen placed first with a time of 2:35.37 in the 200 yard breaststroke. Russo followed up with a first place finish of 5:38.99 in the 500 yard freestyle.

The group of Dy, Chen, Wilbur and Pierce took first in the 400 yard freestyle relay but it was unfortunately not enough as the Golden Flyers won the meet 163-133.
